On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, we gathered in the meeting hall of the Municipality of Monfalcone, Italy, for the closing event of the ECO2SMART project, where we presented the project results, pilot actions and educational tools, as well as challenges and perspectives for the conservation of coastal wetlands.
The event included:
- Opening remarks by the Mayor of the Municipality of Monfalcone Italy, Luca Fasano
- Press conference and presentation of project results
- Presentation of the joint strategy and action plan for active participation of stakeholders in ecosystem-based adaptation actions
- Presentation of pilot actions in Veneto, FVG and Slovenia
- Results of the consultative roundtables for coastal wetlands of the northern Adriatic coast
- Presentation of the catalogue of good practices, the project final publication and the online educational portal
- Roundtable for young people on the challenges and perspectives of coastal wetland conservation
